WOSU Public Media, a service of The Ohio State University and a distinguished public radio and television licensee, invites applications for the position of General Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an accomplished public media service in a dynamic community.  

WOSU reaches over 2.5 million people in Columbus, OH, a dynamic university city and the state Capital. 

WOSU is revered and well supported by the Columbus community and by the University. Working in a brand-new facility and with a supportive University administration and with Friends of WOSU, the GM will implement WOSU’s strategic direction toward even greater success. WOSU is a financially successful station emerging from a positive capital campaign with significant momentum. Additionally, the GM will lead organizational capacity building toward an increasingly diverse, equitable and inclusive organization, continued financial strength and programmatic expansion. The GM will serve as principal ambassador to the community-at-large

A Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired. Minimum seven (7) years of relevant senior management leadership experience in public media, nonprofit, business or education field is required. Experience managing and preparing a budget is required. Demonstrated experience as a fundraiser and relationship builder is required as is the ability to lead, manage, and retain a diverse, talented, motivated staff. A thorough understanding of public media and its unique programming, technology, fiscal and fundraising challenges and opportunities is desired. Must be able to define, effectively communicate and implement an organizational vision within and outside of WOSU.
