NETA Hires New Vice President of Professional Services and Director, NETA Business Center

Robert Clauser to start July 16, 2024

On July 16, 2024, Robert Clauser will join the NETA executive leadership team as the new vice president of professional services and director, NETA Business Center.

In this role, Clauser will strategically manage and advance NETA’s successful Business Center and oversee other external services, including NETA Consulting, while helping drive overall organizational vision. Leading a team of 40 professionals, he will execute the business development strategy for market and revenue growth while assuring clients are well served. The NETA Business Center clients include more than 60 public media stations and other nonprofit organizations, community and industry groups, and associations. 

“Robert has a long history with and respect for public media. He served as CFO for a major market public media station, has produced programming for public media, and more recently, led explorations around artificial intelligence in a newsroom,” said Eric Hyyppa, NETA president. “His experience in public media, financial management, and innovation in the nonprofit sector will be a great asset to NETA, our member stations and clients, and the system at large.”

Clauser has led complex financial, legal, and HR organizations, often through challenging times. He has a long history in building and operating infrastructure, primarily in the media and philanthropic sectors, including for education start-ups and major media corporations. Clauser has demonstrated successes in organizational design and recruiting. 

“With the opportunities and challenges facing public media in the coming years, finding innovative solutions while tapping entrepreneurial resources across the system and in the NETA Business Center is only going to become more important,” said Clauser. “I am eager to build on the foundation that Anita Sims created.
