#2801 Dan Tyminski Band
DAN TYMINSKI is a 14-time Grammy winner and member of Alison Krauss and Union Station whose updated version of the song “Man of Constant Sorrow” was featured in the 2000 film “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?”. He started playing mandolin at the age of six, but turned to playing mandolin full-time after hearing a tape of J.D. Crowe when he was 12. He returns to the WoodSongs stage with his full band to introduce his new album, “God Fearing Heathen.”

WoodSongs Kid: Tucker Connor is an 11 year old platpicker from Fleetwood, North Carolina.

RHONDA VINCENT and the RAGE is a revered bluegrass super group, deemed the “Queen of Bluegrass” by the New York Times, Grammy winning members of the Grand Ole Opry and one of the most active and popular groups at festivals and concerts nationwide.

SUSAN PEPPER is an Appalachian ballad singer featured in the motion picture MOUNTAIN MINOR. A multi-instrumentalist (dulcimer, banjo, and guitar) and educator, she has been immersed in Appalachian and western North Carolina’s song and music traditions and is passionate about sharing them.

STEVE DAWSON is called “one of the most underrated songwriters in American music” and teachs songwriting classes at the Old Town School of Music. Based in Chicago, he has recently released his 6th solo album, GHOSTS and will be performing with his wife, Diana Christiansen.

CEDRIC BURNSIDE is a hard core, genuine American blues master and grandson of the iconic RL Burnside. He carries the mantle, joy and the burdens and the history of the North Mississippi hill country blues He has won more than a dozen individual awards and has led or contributed to four Grammy-nominated projects.

CANDICE IVORY is one of America’s greatest soul and blues artists. WoodSongs is proud to introduce her celebration of on of the most revered blues artists of all time: MEMPHIS MINNIE, a guitar legend and blues artist whose work was covered even by the rock band LED ZEPPLIN. Ivory reintroduces the music of this legend, almost forgotten until Bonnie Raitt purchaced the headstone for Memphis Minnie’s grave site.

PHOEBE WHITE is an accomplished yodeler with an extensive range. A 14 year old from the foothills of Appalachia, Phoebe is inspired by music pioneers who have gone before her such as Roy and Dale, Patsy Cline, Jimmie Rogers, and Patsy Montana. Sharing the music of America’s cowboy past is one of her passions.

MICHAEL MARTIN MURPHEY is one of America’s most awarded songwriters with global hit records like WILDFIRE, GERONIMO’S CADILLAC, CAROLINA IN THE PINES, WHAT’S FOREVER FOR and more. Murphey’s songs have been recorded by multiple artists including John Denver, Kenny Rogers, Cher, Lyle Lovett and even The Monkees. He returns to WoodSongs with first album “Road Beyond the View” a 9 song collection is a musical journey into things that Father and Son enjoyed growing up together in and around Taos, NM.

CHEVEL SHEPHERD is a rising star in country music. She is the winner of season 15 of The Voice and stars in the motion picture “Wildfire: The Legend of the Cherokee Ghost Horse” based Murphey’s hit song.

MURIEL ANDERSON is mong the top acoustic guitarists/harp-guitarists in the world, and she is the first woman to win the National Finger-style Guitar Championship. Woody Allen’s film “Vicki Cristina Barcelona” features music by Anderson, who has performed in a bluegrass band and written music for the Nashville Chamber Orchestra. Her repertoire is varied, ranging from Doc Watson to Chet Atkins, Japanese songs to Sousa marches.

HIROYA TSUKAMOTO was born and raised in Japan and came to the United States. He was the second-place winner at the International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship. Described as an innovative guitarist and composer who fuses folk, jazz and world music. He has headlined concerts throughout the United States as well as internationally.

WoodSongs Kid: Sara and Savannah Cool are two singers from Lexington, Kentucky.

BEN SOLLEE is a Kentucky cellist, songwriter, and composer known for his political activism. His music incorporates banjo, guitar, and mandolin along with percussion and unusual cello techniques. His songs exhibit a mix of folk, bluegrass, jazz, and R&B. His new album is called LONG HAUL.

KYRAN DANIELS began his career performing alongside Grammy Nominee Tommy Emmanuel on stages spanning the globe. His diverse musical palette and superlative musicianship saw him fast become one of Australia’s finest studio talents, and a go-to for artists & labels domestically & abroad.

WoodSongs Kid: Spencer Gardner is a 11 year old fiddler from Crofton, Kentucky.

ROB MCNURLIN was raised in Eastern Kentucky. Inspired by Cash, Dylan, Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams, rob has toured North America and traveled with Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Marty Stuart, and Hot Tuna.
