reativity and inspiration shine on stage in Kansas City.

(October 20, 2011 – Kansas City, Missouri)  The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) honored 23 public broadcasters with awards on stage at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center hotel. In all, twenty-eight trophies in content production, promotion, community engagement, and instructional media were awarded.  The presentation was part of NETA’s annual conference, held this year in Kansas City, Missouri.

In addition to the NETA awards, the NETA Education Center board presented its Enterprise and Innovation award to WKYU at Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, KY) for its success in converting traditional incandescent production studio lighting to the smaller, more configurable, and more cost-efficient LED system.

The NETA Awards are annual recognition of member-produced excellence in public broadcasting, a tradition established forty-four years ago by the pioneering Southern Educational Communications Association from which NETA was formed.

NETA is a professional association founded in 1997 to serve public television licensees and affiliated educational organizations.  The organization has members in 42 states, the District of Columbia, and the Virgin Islands. NETA is headquartered in Columbia, SC.
